Our History
John's Vision Inc is a nonprofit organisation established as an incorporated association. This organisation is located in Mandurah, and has a mission to provide eyecare and eyewear to the homeless and other vulnerable communities.
John's Vision has formed partnerships with various local community groups in order to further our cause and increase the accessibility of our service.
In October 2022, John's Vision opened its first clinic at the Anglican Community Centre in Mandurah. This was in partnership with the local community group Peel Connect Inc. This clinic has been running fortnightly since.
In May 2023, John's Visions second clinic was opened, this time in Perth alongside Homeless Healthcare, a GP clinic for the homeless.
John's Vision also has an as-needed service that visits aged care and community centers across Perth, where disadvantaged clients can request our services.
These services were designed in response to homeless and disadvantaged communities needing accessible and affordable eyecare and eyewear.
Our Team
About Our Service
John’s Vision provides comprehensive bulk-billed Optometry services to the Homeless and
disadvantaged. Disadvantage can mean financial, mental, or physical hardship, which may
hinder access to eye care.
Regarding eligibility, patients need to possess one valid form of concession, this can be a
health care, disability support, or aged care concession card. In some cases, a referral from
a community support group or crisis center can stand in place of a concession card.
We also provide affordable prescription glasses, in some circumstances free. Alongside this are affordable extras thanks to the generous support of local lens manufacturer, Eyesave Optical.
